New Beginnings

Wow! I finally have a chance to get on here and update - but since I've slept since my last post, I've decided that it's not going to be much of an update. Rather than try to recap everything I've done over the last 2 months, I've decided that I'm just starting fresh. And since Lent started today, I think it's okay for me to do that. Lent is basically "spring cleaning" for the mind and soul, and why shouldn't that include my blog??? No sense in cluttering up my head or my blog with stuff that's not all that important in the long run!

Speaking of long run... I've really been slacking. I was sick during Christmas, and I just don't feel like myself when I run these days. It seems to take a lot out me, and my lung capacity is terrible! I hate being winded when I've only run 1.5 miles. So far my longest "long run" this year has only been 4 miles. The weather hasn't helped much either - I just can't bring myself to get out there when it's just downright crappy. I'm ready for spring and sunshine and warmer weather...

In other news, my hubby and I think we have found our "church home" and I am looking forward to our first Easter/Lenten season in our new "home." I plan to use this time to really evaluate and make sure this is where we really want to be and where we want to raise our family. It is a nice sized congregation, and they have a lot of different programs, Sunday School classes, activites, etc for all ages. It's quite different from the church I went to in high school, and also quite different from the church my husband grew up in, both of which we've decided aren't right for us. We both feel comfortable at this church and can see our family there long term. Of course, we've only been going there for a few weeks, which is why I'm looking forward to the coming weeks. I think it will really give us a feel for what we're getting ourselves into!

Hey Candice! It was good to see you and your mom out at the river a couple of weeks ago. Keep at the running. Your wind will come back before you know it.

Hope you enjoy your new church!

And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. -Hebrews 10:24-25
